Neurofashion, Nanofiber and the Little Black Dress
A new project exploring the world of nanofiber technology inspired by and partnering with Harvard’s Tarr Family Professor of Bioengineering and Applied Physics, Kit Parker and his invention of a cotton candy and rotary jet spinning technology. Merging art and science, Ciuffo is collaborating with Harvard's bioengineering department, spinning nanofiber canvases as backdrops for a new Stasis series. Based on a fact finding and artistic journey, this new series merges art with science and presents the infinite, universe of the microscopic nanofibers.

Nano.Stasis is a series based on a collaboration with Harvard’s School of Engineering and Applied Science exploring a new nanofiber technology, presenting the ethereal side of microscopic nanofibers. Works emphasize how creativity, beauty and science are intertwined. Ciuffo merges ethereal beings and organic elements to form large format composite photographs mounted to an acrylic medium after spinning, photographing and manipulating nanofibers.

Creating contrast within negative space Ciuffo presents images infused with celestial light, textures and organic forms. Images, most found in nature, are composed as both buoyant and free falling, defying gravity, as well as structured tableaux.
